We seek DC-barred project attorneys to assist the Firm’s associates and partners in the management of document review, analysis and production for the Firm’s litigation, antitrust, and securities enforcement practice areas. The project attorney position is a temporary, as-needed, nonexempt attorney position with no weekly minimum expectation or guarantee of hours to be worked.
Reports to: Senior Staff Attorneys, Associates and Partners
Supervises: May be asked to supervise paralegals, temporary attorneys, and other office personnel depending on needs of cases and/or assignments
The Business Development Manager will support and execute the business development plans and strategies of the attorneys in the firm. S/he will help shape the strategic positioning for the firm's various practices within the context of the Cleary brand. This includes supporting client relationship building initiatives, facilitating cross-selling opportunities among practice groups, tool development, and business opportunity generation. This position will support all Washington-based lawyers, with responsibility for the antitrust, bank regulatory, litigation/enforcement, and structured finance practice groups. This position involves working closely with attorneys and other members of the Global Business Development team in New York and in other offices.
The Manager will also have managerial and mentoring responsibility for the Business Development team member(s) working with the practices s/he supports.
We seek a full‑time Accounting Assistant to join our Finance team. Under the general supervision of the Washington Office Finance Director, this position is responsible for processing vendor invoices and employees’ expense reports, assisting with collections, internal cost entry, filing, scanning and other administrative functions as assigned to support the Finance team. This position is also responsible for ensuring accounting policies and procedures and internal controls are followed. The position requires the ability to work occasional overtime as may be required by the department or Firm. Successful candidates are detail‑oriented, technically inclined, deadline driven, curious problem solvers, and adept at interacting with a variety of personality types with diplomacy and finesse.

Working closely with attorneys and other members of the Global Business Development Team, the Business Development Specialist will leverage his/her research, writing and analytical skills to support the firm in executing business development and marketing initiatives. Under the direction of the Senior Business Development Manager, the specialist will support all Washington-based lawyers, with responsibility for the antitrust, financial institutions/regulatory, litigation/enforcement and structured finance practice groups. Successful candidates will be comfortable driving tasks and projects to completion, working both independently and collaboratively, to achieve specified goals while adapting to change, balancing competing and shifting priorities, working overtime as firm needs require, and managing demands outside of core business hours.
Cleary Gottlieb is seeking a Manager of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives to manage the execution of Washington Office initiatives in support of the firm's diversity and inclusion objectives in coordination with the Director of Legal Personnel and Recruiting. Under the direction of a senior attorney and in conjunction with other Firm staff attorneys and associates, our practice support coordinator will assist our legal teams on technical aspects of litigation support and e-discovery.
