This is a position, in a growing globally focused department, for an ambitious, career-orientated individual to assist with administering and developing the organization’s strategic sourcing, supply management and purchasing operations.  The position would look to grow awareness and build procurement strategies and roadmaps locally, regionally and globally as a member of the central Procurement team.   

The applicant, should be a self starter with five or more years in procurement, preferably with other law firms or professional services organizations.  The applicant should have a proven track record in communicating the benefits of professionally managed expenditure and achieving substantial purchasing success.  They should be looking to thrive in an environment where processes are still maturing, are flexible and innovative and have a drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate the mission of procurement and educate internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Analyze purchasing spend activity by identifying opportunities, domestically and internationally, to aggregate, standardize and minimize costs.
  • Initiate and lead efforts to source products and services, develop supply options and cultivate expertise in a range of product groups.
  • Negotiate agreements with suppliers to achieve the optimal combination of service, cost, quality and risk mitigation
  • Achieve demonstrable cost savings, so as to deliver a return on investment and maximize value to the organization
  • Ability to think both strategically and operationally; ideal candidate can manage multiple categories with high level of internal client relationship management skills
  • Manage preferred supplier relationships, monitor performance, and analyze category spend
  • Project manage and facilitate the end-to-end contract review process
  • Lead the development, implementation and improvement of systems and processes to support the sourcing and procurement life cycle.
  • Perform competitive bids, collaborate with subject matter experts to develop specifications, overall business requirements/standards, & draft effective Tender and RFx documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and stay current on industry trends

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in a technical or business field required. Recognized Purchasing certification in CIPS, ISM or other professional purchasing organization an advantage.
  • 3-5 years of purchasing experience. Existing knowledge of general indirect procurement commodities, including professional services and/or technology services purchasing.
  • Solid business judgment, including the ability to anticipate impact of decisions and initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Effective and efficient communication skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate as an effective team member and work independently with minimal supervision to maximize team results.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
