The Senior Client Reporting Analyst assists with the daily and monthly reporting of client, practice, industry and office results to individual partners and other internal stakeholders of the Firm.  This analysis helps the Firm make informed business decisions and better respond to client requests for proposals, rate negotiations, and budget estimates.  The Senior Analyst takes a more independent role within the group and focuses on complex pricing models, matter budgeting and tracking, and has increased direct interaction with partners.

Responsibilities

  • Generate monthly client analysis and practice group reporting
  • Work collaboratively with Partners and the Business Development Team to prepare internal presentations and pitches for new or existing work
  • Ensure changes to Aderant structure are reflected in database rollups and coordinate with profitability software vendor
  • Model pricing scenarios in support of client rate negotiations
  • Read and interpret billing guidelines and model the profitability impact
  • Work with Billing Team to ensure negotiated rate cards are properly implemented
  • Assist with matter budgeting and client cost estimates
  • Suggest optimal staffing scenarios based on specific client rate agreements
  • Build and maintain Excel database of previous matters for budget estimate reference with qualitative and quantitative characteristics (i.e., IPO, Motion to Dismiss, etc.)
  • Prepare detailed MD&A style summaries of client results in support of regular partner client team meetings
  • Analyze profitability of unbilled time in advance of final client billing, as needed
  • Respond timely to analysis and information requests
  • Prepare pro-forma analysis and presentations for the Finance and Billing Committee and other firmwide committees
  • Actively participate in internal meetings to discuss monthly financial results
  • Special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of previous experience as a financial analyst
  • College Degree with a major in Accounting, Finance or Economics. Minimum GPA in major and overall 3.5, respectively
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including experience creating complex Excel models
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (please provide analytical writing sample, in addition to a standard cover letter)
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. Must be able to manage multiple, competing deadlines and prioritize work correctly
  • Working knowledge of financial or reporting database structure. Experience using SQL or Power BI is a plus
  • Available for work on nights and weekends to meet deadlines and deliverables

The estimated base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
