This position reports to the Pricing Operations Manager and is part of the Revenue Operations Team that reports into the Director of Revenue. As a member of the Pricing Operations group, this position will utilize systems to manage, implement and maintain accurate and up to date client negotiated rates and discount information; build trust with clients by ensuring adherence to outside counsel guidelines and engagement letters; support with RFIs, RFPs and annual rates negotiations; and support in the year-end rate review and implementation. This position provides exposure to multiple facets of Finance, i.e., Client Profitability and Reporting, Strategic Pricing, Risk, Accounting Systems, and Client Account Team (Billing & Collections).

Responsibilities

Client Billing Arrangement Management

  • Document client fee arrangement information through communication with the Global Client Account, Strategic Pricing, Global Proposals teams and Partners.
  • In coordination with Pricing Operations Manager, support year-end client rate review and partner outreach.
  • Manage the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of rate cards.
  • Implementation of negotiated client billing arrangements and alternative fee structures in Aderant and support processes for accurately tracking arrangements.
  • Understand and effectively communicate complex client billing arrangements and billing requirements with little guidance to Partners, Finance Managers, Client Profitability, Client Account Team, and others as needed to assist with client negotiations and financial analysis.
  • Implement both complex and simple billing arrangements with minimal supervision and operationalize in Aderant to ensure accuracy in billing and reporting.
  • Audit of fee arrangements and rates, and matter set-ups in Aderant.
  • Work with E-billing to prepare rate sheets for client submission based on agreed fee arrangements.

Outside Counsel Guidelines Compliance

  • Review and understand client outside counsel guidelines and summarize key finance-related provisions. Maintain systems to organize and surface guidelines.
  • Ensure firm compliance with client negotiated billing arrangements and client requirements by creating guidelines in Aderant and seek opportunities to implement red flag words and rules using available technology.

Pricing Operations Management

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for Pricing Operations processes and systems.
  • Support software reviews and validation testing, as required.
  • Implement workflows for rate management and compliance.
  • Provide training and support to Global Client Account Team with rates application and create and maintain documentation and user guides.
  • Assist the Pricing Operations Manager in ad hoc requests (e.g., timekeeper analysis).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MS or other advance degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate or law firm (preferred) experience in billing, e-billing, pricing, or related role.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized individual with excellent writing, communication and analytical skills.
  • Agility with technology and a strong commitment to continuous learning.
  • Ability to prioritize and be flexible in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) skills and proficient in Word and PowerPoint.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
