The Global Market & Competitive Intelligence team is at the forefront of driving strategic insights that shape and support the firm’s overall strategy and business development initiatives. As a Market & Competitive Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering high-impact research using the firm’s advanced AI tools and platforms. Your work will directly inform decision-making and contribute to strategic planning and go-to-market efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Global Market & Competitive Intelligence Manager and wider team to implement innovative research strategies and deliver impactful products and services at a practice group, industry, and office level.
  • Dive deep into client, industry and competitive research, synthesizing insightful outputs including company briefings and industry benchmarking reports, using a range of information sources, specialized tools, and market data.
  • Create and deliver research products tailored to local requirements while maintaining a global approach.
  • Handle the day-to-day intake of research requests, prioritizing and responding to them efficiently.
  • Continually hone your knowledge of research methods and technologies while identifying and experimenting with new opportunities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, keeping abreast of developments in the legal sector and wider business environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Post graduate qualification in an information, research or business-related discipline an advantage but not required.
  • A minimum of four years of previous experience delivering business research and information within a commercial or professional services organization; a legal background is preferred.
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough data analysis and benchmarking, identifying key trends and insights to support strategic decision-making and competitive positioning.
  • Ability to effectively explain research to a wide audience, telling a story with the data to communicate insights.
  • Proficient in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including financial analysis and innovative visual techniques.
  • Utilize advanced data visualization techniques to transform complex data sets into clear, compelling visual stories that drive strategic insights and decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of research sources, techniques, and technologies; ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into relevant research projects.
  • Confident in scoping complex requests and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Skilled in business writing and structured thinking methodologies.
  • Focused on drawing commercial linkages between research and business opportunities.
  • Excellent understanding of critical success criteria for high-quality research functions.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across practice areas and regions.
  • Demonstrated experience in utilizing Excel for data analysis, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques to derive actionable insights.

The estimated base salary for this position is $100,000 to $110,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
