The internal communications senior specialist will support a global communications strategy that ensures consistent internal voice, amplifies firm priorities and values, strengthens culture and brand, and increases employee engagement. This role will report to the senior manager of internal communications and will collaborate with Business Development, Marketing and Communication teams, other professional staff departments, and firm leaders, to develop and execute strategic communications campaigns and employee engagement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute internal communications and employee engagement campaigns that support the firm’s strategic priorities, values and culture.
  • Write and edit copy for various mediums and audiences, ensuring error-free work product and consistent messaging that adheres to the firm style guide.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to draft talking points and other communications for senior partners and professional staff leadership that reflect the firm’s priorities and capture individual voices.
  • Advise on and implement best practices in internal communications and continuously assess the effectiveness of communications strategies through metrics and analysis.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to creatively brainstorm, plan, execute and prepare materials for employee engagement activities including town halls, Q&A sessions, etc.
  • Advise professional staff departments on communications strategy, provide editorial review and liaise with relevant teams on production of collateral and assets.
  • Leverage technology and an audience-centric mindset to help develop a strategy for maintaining and modernizing all primary internal communications channels (e.g., emails, videos, podcasts, intranet, digital screens, etc.).
  • Work with teams and stakeholders at all levels across the organization to ‘join the dots’, streamline where possible and ensure that all internal communications reflect the brand and culture of the firm, both in content and tone.
  • Align with Business Development, Marketing and PR teams to ensure a consistent brand in internal and external communications.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of brand, marketing and communication strategies, as well as world economic, business and industry affairs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in communications. Previous professional services, agency or legal industry experience highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including flexible writing style with expertise in shifting tone for different audiences.
  • Strong executive presence, emotionally intelligent and ability to collaborate with and advise stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with outstanding follow-through and project management skills.
  • Ability to perform with poise under deadlines and prioritize workload.
  • Demonstrated understanding of tools, techniques, trends, and best practices for internal communications and employee engagement.
  • Commitment to operational excellence and a desire to learn and grow.
  • Willing to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends as the job demands, and travel as required.

The estimated base salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $120,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will be determined based on various job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, the scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This is a exempt role, meaning it is not eligible for overtime pay.
