Reporting to the Director of Partnership Accounting and Tax and working closely with the Partnership Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with a wide array of partnership accounting activities for the Firm including partner payments, equity account reconciliations and other ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process partner payments and earnings statements, including monthly active partner draw and retired partner payments, special distribution payments, guaranteed salary payments and expatriate benefits payments
  • Prepare reconciliations and related analysis of all equity accounts in the general ledger
  • Research and analyze reconciling items, creating monthly journal entries as required
  • Prepare annual equity close-out journal entries
  • Maintain up to date information on Partner data (demographic information, tax elections, etc.)
  • Actively participate in Partnership Accounting and Tax team’s responsibilities related to fixed assets including but not limited to, recording assets in fixed asset system, preparing, and recording related fixed asset journal entries and preparing monthly reconciliations
  • Participate in global year-end audit through preparation of supporting equity schedules
  • Actively participate in developing process improvements for existing activities
  • Actively participate in developing/updating department procedures for responsibilities
  • Other special projects, as requested

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience, post undergraduate degree
  • Strong academic credentials with a major in Finance or Accounting. GPA of 3.0 overall and in major
  • Working towards CPA
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • An excellent communicator who is effective at all levels, particularly with attorneys; an individual who listens carefully, articulates positions clearly, and conveys confidence
  • An individual, who is well organized, establishes priorities, plans realistically and is available to work evenings and weekends to meet deadlines
  • A person of unquestioned integrity whose personal behavior reflects positively upon the Firm.
  • A self-confident individual who is able to collaborate equally with lawyers and administrative staff

 

The estimated base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $125,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will be determined based on various job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, the scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This is an exempt role, meaning it is not eligible for overtime pay.
