We seek full-time Litigation Paralegals to provide broad, responsive, and efficient support to our litigation/disputes practice area. Litigation Paralegals work and gain experience on a wide variety of matters including, but not limited to, securities and M&A litigation, sovereign litigation/arbitration, antitrust, bankruptcy, white-collar defense and investigations, intellectual property and general commercial disputes, as well as numerous pro bono cases. These practice areas provide exposure to various federal, state, governmental and international agencies. The Litigation Paralegals are invaluable members of the teams, assisting with challenging, newsworthy and law-effecting matters.

Responsibilities

Litigation Paralegals will assist with all aspects of client and case support on a variety of innovative, complex, and often highly visible matters, while working closely with and under the direction of partners, associates, and senior paralegals, and under the general supervision of the Litigation Resources Manager. Successful candidates will have superior organizational and time management skills; effective problem-solving skills; a positive, professional demeanor; and a strong client service focus. Common tasks that Litigation Paralegals perform include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with all aspects of document management, preparation of pleadings, filings, and document productions
  • Assisting with all aspects of discovery and trial preparation including, but not limited to, coding documents; creating and maintaining document databases; creating and maintaining document logs; proofreading and cite-checking legal documents; preparation of witness binders, trial exhibits, trial notebooks; and logistical support arrangements for depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Attending depositions, hearings and trials
  • Performing LEXIS, Westlaw, internet and field research
  • Translating foreign language documents and serve as interpreters for clients and/or lawyers, subject to ability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic background (minimum 3.3 GPA)
  • Interest in the field of law
  • Proactive thinker/Eagerness to learn
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and in collaboration with others
  • Excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks, deliver results, and maintain quality while working under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong research skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience with broad range of computer software, especially Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Foreign language skills (especially Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian or Mandarin) are a plus
  • Must be willing to make a two-year commitment

The estimated base salary for this position is $60,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This role is non-exempt meaning that it is overtime pay eligible.
