  • Overview

    The Business Development Assistant will leverage his/her research, writing and analytical skills to support the firm’s Corporate practices in executing business development and marketing initiatives.  The assistant will work closely with other members of the Global Business Development team to achieve Firm and office business development goals.


    • Working with Corporate BD team to conduct research on existing and prospective clients, competitor activity and industry or market trends to aid in the development of marketing plans, pitches, presentations and proposals.
      • Preparing company reports and profiles including background information, advisory relationships and market intelligence utilizing internal and external data sources; and
      • Monitoring and tracking new developments in various industries and geographic regions using internal and external data sources.
    • Assisting with the preparation of pitch material and RFP responses to win new business, including by:
      • Maintaining up-to-date collection of marketing and pitch materials as they relate to the Corporate practices;
      • Compiling initial drafts of pitches; and
      • Maintaining records for, and analyzing outcomes of, pitches and fee proposals.
    • Supporting Corporate BD team members with the preparation of agendas and materials in connection with regular practice group and client team meetings.
    • Entering Corporate BD activities and client intelligence into Firm CRM system.
    • Assisting Corporate BD and PR teams with award submissions and other profile-raising initiatives.
    • Assisting Corporate BD team with compiling directory submissions, including Chambers, Legal 500 and IFLR1000.
    • Liaising with Corporate BD and Events teams to assist with internal and external events, seminars, webinars and sponsorships.
    • Liaising with Corporate BD, Marketing and Communications teams on website content and other practice-specific content.


    Professional experience:

    One to two years of relevant marketing/business development experience.  Law firm/professional services or marketing experience is highly desirable.

    The position requires a proactive and motivated team player.  The individual must be able to adapt to change, balance competing demands and manage demands outside of traditional business hours.

    • Strong computer skills with various Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), CRM and research tools.
    • Expected to monitor emails outside of normal business hours and be available as needed.


    Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, liberal arts or related field desired.
