Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP seeks a 2018 summer intern for its Americas Marketing and Business Development function. About Marketing and Business Development:

The team is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day marketing and business development initiatives of the U.S. and Latin American offices, including pitches for new business, research projects, client seminars and events, public relations and profile-raising activities, and the development and maintenance of print and digital collateral materials.


About the Internship Position:

The summer intern will gain broad exposure to how a leading global law firm engages in marketing and business development with key internal and external audiences. During the 10-week program, the intern will rotate between two segments of the department and have an opportunity to learn about and/or participate in projects related to:

  • Business development, including pitches and proposals, research, legal directories, practice management, events, and competitive intelligence;
  • Communications, including content development, graphic design, marketing communications (internal and external), public relations, social media and more.

The intern will also have an opportunity to learn about Cleary Gottlieb and the legal profession more broadly, including meetings with professional staff from other disciplines to gain insights into their career paths in professional services management.



  • Native or fluent in Spanish (both verbal and written)
  • Rising college senior strongly preferred
  • Strong academic performance
  • Excellent interpersonal, client service, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Exercises good judgment, has excellent organization skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize numerous responsibilities
  • Proactive team player
  • Must be proficient MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint
