  • Overview

    The Practice Development (“PD”) Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Global PD department in the New York office and to other members of the Global PD core team Firm wide. The PD Assistant will work closely with the Knowledge Solutions Team and the Director of Global Library and Information Services. The individual will work on a variety of administrative tasks and will be exposed to law firm operational and legal functions. 


    • Manage Global PD director and manager calendars
    • Onboarding of new staff and management of databases, systems and subscriptions for Global PD team
    • Coordinating cross-office and cross-team meetings and events for the PD department, including scheduling rooms, video conferences, and catering
    • Booking travel arrangements and processing expenses
    • Liaising directly with lawyers and legal support personnel in the course of performing the responsibilities listed above
    • Assist with vendor relationships including setting up meetings, conference rooms and calls. Setup outside visitors in the building access system
    • Manage out-of-office calendars to track team member locations
    • Assist the Global PD directors and managers on other department administrative tasks and ad-hoc projects


    Candidates for this position should have an interest in working in a large law firm environment and should possess the following skills:

    • Knowledgeable with computer technology and aptitude for quickly mastering new computer applications;
    • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word
    • Competent in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Microsoft Access or other databases a plus
    • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
    • Willingness to accept a wide variety of tasks, can do attitude
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Ability to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision and reminders
    • An eye for detail and ability to avoid data entry oversights and errors
